In addition to courses specifically offered to help VHBA members
and other contractors obtain and maintain their Dwelling Contractor
Qualifier (DCQ) credentials, Valley Home Builders Association
offers courses to assist professionals working in a variety of
professions within the housing industry.
Some classes include DCQ credit, and those will be noted as
such. VHBA invites any member or non-member to

Lead Safe Renovator Training
As of April 22, 2010, the Wisconsin Department of Health
Services along with the EPA is requiring those involved in
renovations in homes built prior to 1978, disturbing more than 6
sq. ft. of interior space or more than 20 sq. ft. of exterior space
to have Wisconsin Lead-Safe Renovator certification. This could
include remodeling, repair, rehab, weatherization, painting,
electrical, plumbing, HVAC, window refinishing, carpentry, etc.

Members with expertise in their respective trades are
encouraged to partner with VHBA to present classes through the
