You will also automatically become a member of the Wisconsin Builders Association and the National Association of Home Builders. For more than 40 years, the Valley Home Builders Association has been representing and serving the collective interests of residential builders and associated professionals in the Fox Valley. The VHBA today represents more than 1,000 companies, and serves as the voice of the industry.

Membership in the VHBA provides direct exposure to more than 1,000 industry professionals, as well as to the home-buying public, through company listings in the annual Member Directory and on www.vhba.com, in the Find-A-Member section.

Membership in your builders association allows you to give back to the industry that has given you so much – through educational and community service programs, charitable aid, scholarships and more. You, your ideas and your help are needed to build an even stronger Association, which in turns gives you stronger representation at the city, county, state and national levels. Lend your stature to help housing grow and prosper as an industry and as a profession.

Connect with Consumers through VHBA Member Logo - Consumer recognition is important to you. The recognizable VHBA logo is provided to members upon request for use on promotional items, advertisements, etc.

Professional Recognition

Enhance your professional credibility and visibility by belonging to one of the nation's most highly-respected and widely-known trade associations. Not sure how to do that? Get involved. Join a committee. Attend membership meetings. Teach a class. Work on a community service project. Do just one of these, and you will see - professional recognition comes easy when you get involved!

Signature Events

Members receive the invaluable benefit of eligibility to participate in VHBA's signature events: Parade of Homes, VHBA Home Expo, Winter Wonderland of Homes, and Parade of Condos. These targeted annual events directly reach thousands of people planning to build, buy or remodel!

Protect and Promote the Building Industry

The Association acts as a source of timely and reliable information concerning the local building industry, and works to eliminate overly-restrictive and costly building laws and regulations that drive up the cost of housing. VHBA provides a forum through which businesses can work together to remain informed regarding new and proposed governmental polices which affect the housing industry.

Resources

As a member of VHBA, you'll have access to innumerable resources.

From NAHB - The HBA Bookstore offers an array of useful tools and reference materials to help you in your daily business needs. Critical news and information is available to NAHB members through publications, e-newsletters, exclusive website content, and a national staff of industry experts to address your specific business questions – economists, legal research staff, financial experts and regulatory and technical specialists. Members receive a comprehensive weekly news summary of the housing industry, and a free subscription to Builder Magazine. Members also have access to specific industry segment publications such as sales and marketing, remodeling, etc.

From WBA – WBA publishes a monthly newsletter and a bi-monthly magazine to keep members informed on issues affecting builders across the state.

WBA advocates for changes to state laws and building codes, etc. to promote affordable and safe housing, and endorses candidates who support the home building industry.

From VHBA – VHBA publishes a weekly e-newsletter, Valley View, to keep members informed on events and opportunities within the Association, as well as member benefits, etc. VHBA also tracks housing starts in the Valley, offers educational programs, promotes members through marketing campaigns, organizes community service programs, and provides multiple opportunities for business development.

Dispute Resolution

Because the building/remodeling process is complex, often extending over a substantial length of time and involving many different individuals; and, as even the best written contracts, specifications and plans leave room for legitimate interpretational differences, VHBA offers its resources and technical knowledge to assist in resolving construction-related disputes. VHBA's Construction Arbitration Board will mediate in both builder/consumer and builder/subcontractor disputes. A full description of the requirements of the process is available in the Resource section of www.vhba.com.
